Mariah Carey ft. Da Brat “4 Real 4 Real”
Mariah Carey has so many hits under her belt, 18 #1 singles to be exact. In 2008, Mariah Carey released her platinum-selling album E=MC2. That album spawned her last #1 single to date “Touch My Body.” It also spawned a song that she recorded titled “4 Real 4 Real”. The song was produced by Jermaine Dupri, and we love the delivery of the lyrics Mariah does. The song also features a rap by Da Brat. Check out down below “4 Real 4 Real”
TLC is the BIGGEST SELLING female group of all time, and their catalog is extremely extensive. In 2012, they covered a song called “Rainbow. “Rainbow” is originally a song by a band called – ” L’Arc~en~Ciel.” TLC did a cover of it for a tribute album that’s getting released in Japan. Check the song out below:
Brandy “Should I Go”
Brandy is known as the “Vocal Bible” in this industry, and if you listen to “Should I Go,” you would know why. “Should I Go” is the last track on her 2004 Gold album Afrodisiac. The song samples the Coldplay track ‘Clocks’. Listen to her harmonies all throughout this song, it will make you just feel so warm inside. Check out the song down below:
TLC is back! They have just released their new song “Meant To Be” which was written by Neyo. This is the first new song from TLC since 2005’s “I Bet”. The song is the only new song featured on their retrospective album 20 which is out in stores on Oct. 15th. The album coincides with the release of their Vh-1 biopic: Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story which premieres Oct. 21st. Meant To Be sounds like classic TLC. The song is a heartfelt track. It sounds as if TLC is singing all of their background vocals, and additional background vocals with Neyo. We like the track and cannot wait to hear their new full-length studio album. We are not sure if there will be a visual for the song, but at least we have new material to listen to. TLC has been making headlines all this year. First, they were honored by MTV Japan, Vh-1 mixtape festival, Drake brought them out during is OVO Fest, collaborating with J. Cole on a hit single, and now the movie. Check out the song Meant To Be down below and let us know what you think:
It seems like it has been forever since TLC has released something in the US, and it has. The last release from TLC was 2005’s Now and Forever: The Hits. Now, 8 years later, comes TLC anniversary album 20, and here is the tracklist for the album:
Now, I am sure that TLC fans are upset at this list due to the fact that there is only one new song on the tracklist. That song is “Meant to Be” which was written by Neyo. However, TLC fans, DO NOT fret. TLC has just confirmed that they are in the studio working on a full-length studio album due out in 2014. Some of the collaborators for that album have been Lady Gaga, Drake, Neyo, Dallas Austin, and J. Cole just announced that he is also contributing to their new studio album. We are excited about the J. Cole collaboration. TLC’s first time collaborating with J. Cole is on his hit song “Crooked Smile” which is currently sitting at #36 on the Hot 100 (Billboard). This is the first Top 40 hit for TLC since 2002’s “Girl Talk”. We believe that a TLC comeback is in full effect.
Don’t forget to catch the TLC biopic on Vh-1 premiering October 21st!
R&B supergroup TLC have been in Japan for the past week. While in Japan, they were honored with a legend award at the 2013 MTV VMAs Japan. In addition to receiving the award, the also performed a medley of their hits in honor of their 20th anniversary. The songs included in that medley were: Diggin On You, What About Your Friends, Waterfalls, and Unpretty just to name a few. It is so hard to believe that their debuted album came out over 20 years ago. While Destiny’s Child may be the #1 female selling R&B group of all time worldwide, TLC is still the #1 selling R&B female group in the United States with 22 million albums sold here alone. Friend to our website Chilli, is excited about the groups upcoming projects, and tour. In the meantime, you can watch the dynamic performance below, and let us know what you think:
Remigio “Remy” Gonzalez, 32 who was a cast member of the hit TV show “Cake Boss” will be arraigned on June 15th in a Morris County courtroom on charges of sexually abusing a 13 year old girl. He was indicted on April 21 by a Morris County grand jury on 15 counts that he sexually assaulted and endangered the welfare of the girl in Hoboken, East Hanover and Florham Park between July 1, 2009, and March 8, 2010. According to CentralJersey, com:
Gonzalez was arrested last August and has not been able to post his $300,000 bail to be freed from the county jail.
When Cake Boss began airing on the TLC cable network in 2009, Gonzalez frequently appeared on the popular show that features Carlo’s Bake Shop in Hoboken and its owner, Buddy Valastro.
Before his arrest, Gonzalez worked in the bakery as a confection decorator and was married to Valastro’s sister, but websites that cite Cake Boss cast members say the couple has divorced.
The indictment charges Gonzalez with three counts of aggravated sexual assault, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. He also is charged with another 12 counts that include child endangerment, sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal sexual contact, all references to levels of alleged abuse by Gonzalez on the girl.
We had the pleasure of being invited to a press conference held by Planet Hollywood for legendary R&B superstar Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas on Tuesday, February 2nd. Chilli, who is 1/3 of the biggest selling R&B female group in the United States, TLC, came out to promote her hit show “What Chilli Wants.” Right before she was presented to the press, a montage of her show came on, to catch everyone up to date on the second season. From the minute she walked out, she was all smiles and answered every question with a smile on her face. Chilli also made the trademark celebrity handprints that Planet Hollywood does with all the celebrities that come and visit. After the Q&A session, Chilli had fans waiting for her, and mingled with every last one of them. She even recognized the ones from Twitter, which shows that she is truly dedicated to her fans. Her team of people were exceptionally nice, and that made everything even more smoother. Shout-out to Christal (Twitter: @EnchantedPR)!!! This year marks the 20th anniversary of TLC, and to this day it shows that her dedication to her work, and appreciation to her fans, has not changed since Day 1. We have some exclusive pics from the event! Look out for the pics down below:
Flashback to the year of 1999, it had been about five years since we heard a single note sung from R&B superstar group TLC. I remember the first time I heard “No Scrubs” on the radio. I was on a field trip to the NY Yankees game. The first time I heard the song, I instantly fell in love with it, not knowing that it was TLC. I was used to the raspy vocals of T-Boz, so it didn’t strike me that Chilli has taken lead on a song. The single was their first single in almost 4 years, and it was one of the biggest comeback singles of all time. The song became TLC’s eighth Top 10 single, went to spend four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, and was named the 2nd biggest single of 1999. The single also propelled the sales of their third studio album “Fanmail” which stayed at #1 on the Billboard 200 for four consecutive weeks, and help the album sell over 6 million copies domestically. Down below is the video for their smash single “No Scrubs” featuring a rap by Left-Eye which was not featured on the original release of the album:
FUN FACT: T-Boz does not sing at all on the song “No Scrubs”. The background vocals are done by Chilli, Kandi Buruss & Tameka “Tiny” Cottle (from R&B group Xscape and who wrote “No Scrubs”), and Debra Killings.
