“Wait…what?!” R&B singer Christina Milian, signs with Lil Wayne’s Young Money!
In more bizarre music news, the beautiful Christina Milian signs with rapper Lil Wayne’s Young Money. The announcement was made by Lil Wayne himself at a Pre-Grammy party event.
“I got the beautiful Ms. Christina Milian with me tonight,” said Wayne. “Ya’ll make some noise for Ms. Christina Milian. Young Money Christina Milian!”
Christina Milian should be an interesting addition to the Young Money family. She is talented, and very pretty. We hope that this move will give her exactly the mainstream A-List career that she is yearning for. Her first album was released in the UK, and Japan, where in the UK it produces three Top 5 hits. Her second album It’s About Time was released her in the US, and produced her biggest hit “Dip It Low” (#5 on the Billboard Hot 100), however, the album peaked at #14 and only sold 380,000+ copies. Lastly, her third album So Amazin’ produced the only single “Say I” which was also a hit, peaking at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100. This album charted higher (#11 Billboard Top 200), but sold significantly less than the previous album. Her last album sold only 163,000 copies in the U.S. So hopefully this time around, we can see her get the shine that she deserves. We are rooting for you Christina.

Congrats! Drake’s “Take Care” album debuts at #1!
Drake has many things to celebrate this week. His sophomore album “Take Care” is in stores and available on iTunes right now. Also, the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart with 631,000 copies sold in its first week. This beats out the debut sales of his first album “Thank Me Later” which also debuted at #1 and sold 447,000 copies in its first week. Congratulations to the Young Money artist, it looks like there is no slowing down of that camp. This debut is the third largest debut of the year, behind Lady Gaga, and fellow Young Money member Lil Wayne. Congrats to you Drake. If you do not have the album, go get it in stores now.
Congrats! Lil Wayne’s “The Carter IV” debuts at #1 with almost a million copies sold!
And they say he couldn’t do it again. Well apparently, rapper Lil Wayne silenced the naysayers with debuting at #1 with his 4th studio album “The Carter IV”. The album sold a STAGGERING 964,000 copies in its first week. According to Billboard.com, Lil Wayne’s “Carter IV” is the biggest sales week for an hip-hop album (or any set by a male artist) since his own “Carter III” debuted at #1 with 1.01 million copies sold on the June 28, 2008 chart. “Carter IV” is also the second biggest open sales of 2011 (so far) behind Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” which sold 1.11 million in its debut week. Now many people will argue that Lil Wayne’s album should be the top-selling because Lady Gaga sold her album for 99 cent through Amazon, and Lil Wayne did not. It was estimated that Amazon sold 440,000 downloads of Lady Gaga’s album for that $0.99 cent price. Lil Wayne’s current single “How To Love” is his first Top 10 hit as a lead artist on the Pop charts since 2008. Congrats on all your success Lil Wayne.
Kelly Rowland’s album sales are in………
Kelly Rowland released her third studio album “Here I Am” last Tuesday (July 26th), and the numbers are in. According to Billboard, Kelly’s album debuted at #3 with just 77,000 copies sold. This is her highest charting album. However, even though her second studio album Ms. Kelly debuted at #6 she sold 83,000 copies that time. It is hard for us to decipher what is the reason for low record sales. She currently has one of the biggest singles in the country. Her first single has so far out-peaked both of Beyonce’s singles. “Motivation” is currently at #17 in the country. Kelly Rowland cannot get a break. It is time for release a video for a second single, and keep the momentum going with this album. Only a matter of time will tell how this album will do. Kelly Rowland, Trey Songz, & Mary J. Blige added to list of 2011 BET Awards performers!
In past years the BET awards have been boring, offensive, ignorant, and poor planning. How about when Keri Hilson started doing Elvis during her Michael Jackson tribute? Or when Trey Songz sang “Purple Rain” to just have Patti Labelle sing it moments later during the Prince tribute. Only one can wonder what type of performances we are going to get this year. The line-up consists of Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Drake, Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, and Jill Scott. Now, they have added Kelly Rowland, Trey Songz, and Mary J. Blige to that line-up. This seems to be a great list of performers. We are anxious to see what Alicia Keys is going to do, she has been out of the line-up for quite sometime. Well anyways, the BET Awards airs June 26th, and is hosted by Kevin Hart. We will be watching like everyone else. Stay tuned!
Rapper Lil Wayne in EVEN MORE tax trouble!
Supreme Fabulosity reported to you recently that Lil Wayne was in tax trouble to the tune of $1.13 million. However, it was reported in that in December, he paid off the federal tax lien. Now, as of last week, the IRS filed a $5.6 million tax lien against Lil Wayne with the Miami Dade County Clerk. According to the lien, he owes incomes taxes from 2008-09. The address on the tax bill is his $12.9 million, 15,1001 square-foot mansion on a private Miami Beach Island. SUPREME POV: Lil Wayne was quoted saying that he would like to make $50 million after taxes this year. That is his goal. With him making money from Drake, Nicki Minaj, and now Justin Bieber (it has been reported that Bieber might sign with Young Money), this may actually happen. HOWEVER, if you keep forgetting to pay your taxes, your chances of that $50 million cash payout, might be farther in the future.

As much as people try to hate on Chris Brown since the whole Rihanna incident, he is indeed one of the most talented R&B artists of the new generation. “Look At Me Now” serves as the next official single off of his 4th studio album “F.A.M.E.” The song is already burning up the charts, and all three of their deliveries are just amazing. Rapper Lil Wayne Pays Off His $1.13 million Tax Debt!
Remember when us at Supreme Fabulosity reported that Lil Wayne owed some serious tax money? Well, according to the Detroit News’ Tax Watchdog, Lil Wayne has recently paid off the $1.13 million tax debt. The debt was for income taxes owed from 2004-2007. That is great news! Now only if we can get Swizz Beatz to pay the 2.6 million in taxes he owes, and Nas to pay the $6.5 million in taxes that he owes. Come on rappers, you guys have go to do better.
Drake may be dropping a new album towards the end of the year!
Drake just released his now platinum debut album “Thank Me Later” this past summer. Now there is talks that a new forthcoming album from the rapper maybe in the works sooner than we think. The president of Young Money Mack Maine stated that the rapper may release his album in time for the holidays.
“It makes sense,” Mack recently explained to ‘MTV News.’ “Like DMX and those guys [at Def Jam]. They dropped two in one year. I think 50 [Cent] did two in one year. If it wasn’t a year, it was right around that time. [Drake’s] hot like that. Why not? Give them what they want.”
As of right now there has been no official release date set for the album.
Lil Wayne vs. the IRS…..AGAIN???!!!
Rapper Lil Wayne may be in jail at the moment, however, that is not stopping the IRS from trying to collect their money from him. According to sources, that state of Florida records show that $1.13 million tax lien was filed by the IRS in Dade County Circuit Court. The records show that rapper owes $1, 138, 760 in income tax from 2004, 2005, and 2007. However, this is not the first time Lil Wayne has been in trouble with the IRS. In 2008, he paid off a tax lien of $977,840. SUPREME POV: He needs to fire his accountant. There is no reason why this money should not be paid on time. However, I know with him making money off of Tyga, Nicki Minaj, and Drake that this will paid off in no time. Keep your head up Lil Wayne. FYI..he will be released from jail in November 2010. He is currently at Rikers Island here in NYC.
Nicki Minaj- “Your Love”
Nicki Minaj is hard at work working on her as-yet-untitled debut album. She currently released the single “Massive Attack” w/ Sean Garrett. Although the video is praised for being original and creative, the single hasn’t performed so well on the charts. The song didn’t even break the Hot 100 chart, and peaked at #65 on the US Hot R&B/Hip Hop charts. However, Nicki is still trekking on with her second single “Your Love”. The video will be shot over the next month, and the official single features Young Money’s own D-Money. I personally LOVE the song. It is a great summer song, and I believe that this will be the song to give her the boost that she needs. Here is the song below:
